JOHN BARRETT
Managing Partner, Portfolio Manager

Mr. Barrett has over 21 years of investment experience spanning both the public and private credit and equity markets. Prior to founding Corre, John was a Senior Analyst at Trafelet Delta Funds where he was responsible for investing across the capital structure, with a special focus on financials. In addition to financials, he took the lead on all credit-related investments and special situations. Prior to Trafelet, John was a senior member of the investment team at Avenue Capital from 2001 to 2006 where he was a Senior Vice President and co-managed Avenue’s Trade Claim Group, a portfolio in excess of $500 million in capital at its peak. John also led Avenue’s investment effort across several sectors, including energy, that resulted in over $1 billion of investments in undervalued securities across credit, trade claims and equities. During his tenure there, John continually ranked among the top contributors to Avenue’s strong returns. In addition to serving on several creditor committees, John served on the Board of Directors of Titan Energy Partners. John started his career at KPS where he focused on investing the buyout fund’s capital in middle market turnarounds. John holds a Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College.

ERIC SODERLUND
Managing Partner, Portfolio Manager

Mr. Soderlund has been involved in the financial industry for 25 years in various roles across investment management, risk and operational management, trading and credit underwriting. Most recently, Eric was at Trafelet Delta Funds, where he was a Partner and served as both Head of Risk Management and Senior Trader since 2003. During this period, Eric was an active participant in the investment process at Trafelet where he led detailed reviews of the portfolio on an individual position and macro exposure basis. Eric was responsible for equity and credit trading as well as generating and implementing the firm’s macro and hedge positions, focused on strategies in volatility, interest rates, sector indices, foreign exchange and commodities. In addition, Eric was a key person on building out Trafelet’s operational infrastructure, including leading a five person team which built and oversaw the firm’s proprietary real-time risk system. Before Trafelet, Eric worked for seven years as an equity derivative sales person at Deutsche Bank and UBS. Eric began his career in 1991 as a credit analyst at National Westminster Bank, a period in which the bank was working through a large portfolio of distressed loans. He left NatWest in 1994 as a loan officer responsible for a loan portfolio exceeding $200 million in cable and media credits. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University.

SAURABH KAPADIA
Partner, Senior Analyst

Mr. Kapadia joined Corre in early 2010. He has over 22 years of experience in the financial industry, most recently as a Managing Director in Bank of America’s Merger and Acquisitions Group focused on the General Industrials space. Saurabh’s career has focused on leading sell-side, buy-side and leveraged buyout transactions for public and private companies across a number of sectors including chemicals, capital goods, metals, and aerospace and defense. As a senior M&A banker, Saurabh developed significant industry expertise and a strong contact network that provide a unique perspective in evaluating potential investment opportunities. Prior to joining Bank of America, Saurabh worked in Morgan Stanley’s Mergers and Acquisitions department where he focused on the energy, health care and consumer sectors. Saurabh started his career as a Financial Analyst with Kidder, Peabody in the Building Products Group before later joining Cowen & Company’s Healthcare Group in 1995. Saurabh holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Dartmouth College.

GEORGE STIEN, CFA
Partner, Senior Analyst

Mr. Stien joined the Corre team at inception in 2009 and has worked in the financial industry since 2002. Since joining Corre, George has developed significant investment experience in a number of sectors including energy, telecom, media and airlines. In addition to this sector experience, George has also developed significant experience around the Chapter 11 process given his work for Corre on several complex bankruptcies, including Nortel Networks and American Airlines. Prior to joining Corre, George was a Vice President at BNP Paribas in the equity derivatives division where he helped to develop and implement diverse investment strategies focused on capital structure arbitrage, fundamental analysis and event-driven catalysts. Additionally, he advised investment funds on the area of quantitative volatility trading and associated structured products. Prior to BNP, George served in a similar role at UBS. George holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Michigan Business School and is a CFA Charterholder.

TOM RADIONOV
Partner, Senior Analyst

Mr. Radionov joined the Corre team in April 2015.  Tom has worked in the financial industry since 2006.  Prior to joining Corre, Tom was an Investment Analyst at Fore Research & Management from 2011-2015.  During his time at Fore, Tom focused on distressed credit and turnaround equity investments across several sectors, including healthcare, power generation, transportation and technology.  Prior to joining Fore, Tom was an Associate in Credit Suisse’s Leveraged Finance & Restructuring Group where he was involved in multiple workouts from 2007-2011. Tom started his career as an Analyst in the healthcare group at Wachovia Securities.  Tom is proficient in German and French and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College where he was awarded a full academic scholarship.

JITEN SANGHAI
Partner, Senior Analyst

Mr. Sanghai joined the Corre team in August 2018. He has over a decade of experience evaluating investments in companies experiencing regulatory, operational or financial difficulties and working with management teams in the business services, specialty manufacturing, aerospace & defense, healthcare, retail and industrials sectors. Prior to joining Corre, Jiten spent nearly two years as a Director at Strategic Value Partners (SVP). At SVP, Jiten focused on identifying and executing special situations and distressed credit investments for the firm’s liquid and drawdown capital vehicles. Prior to joining SVP, Jiten was with JLL Partners for nearly a decade where he was most recently a Principal, and led the sourcing, analysis and execution of private equity investment opportunities. Jiten started his career as a member of the Global Industrial Group at UBS Investment Bank. He received a Master’s Degree in Accounting and Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Honors, Accounting and Economics from The University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with High Honors.

STEPHEN LAM
Research Associate

Mr. Lam joined Corre at inception in 2009. He has worked in the distressed credit and high yield space since 1995 with a particular focus on trade claims. Prior to joining Corre, Stephen spent five years as a Research Analyst at Avenue Capital where he devoted the majority of his time working in Avenue’s Trade Claim Group. Additionally, Stephen analyzed opportunities in distressed corporate loans, bonds, equities and credit insurance. Among other industries, Stephen focused on distressed credits in the retail and consumer products sectors. Before Avenue Capital, Stephen was a Research Assistant at Grantchester Securities, where he assisted a team of high yield Institutional Investor ranked analysts cover the Gaming, Retail, and Cable and Wireline sectors. Stephen attended New York University.

RYAN QUINN
Trade Claim Operations

Mr. Quinn joined Corre Partners in 2014.  At Corre, he is responsible for all trade claim operations.  Ryan assists on the sourcing and underwriting of trade claims and manages the settlement, transfer, and processing of all trade claims purchased by Corre.  In this role, Ryan works closely with the investment team helping to monitor all bankruptcy cases from the original filing date until resolution.  Ryan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Buffalo.

MICAH SPIEGEL
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Spiegel joined Corre Partners in 2014. Micah has over 18 years experience exclusively in hedge funds, managing such functions as accounting, operations, tax, compliance, risk management, human resources and investor relations. Most recently, he was CFO and CCO at Sancus Capital Management, a long/short credit fund manager, where he was responsible for all non-trading functions since early 2010. Prior to Sancus, Mr. Spiegel was a Controller at Galleon Group where he was responsible for all middle and back office operations of Galleon’s International and Special Opportunities Funds, which focused on long/short equity, macro and private equity strategies. Notably, he served as Head of the Valuation Committee for the Funds. Micah had previously been Controller at EMF Financial Products, LLC, a fixed income arbitrage fund manager which focused significantly in in sovereign debt, interest rate swaps and futures. Micah’s role at EMF was substantially focused in accounting and financial reporting. He began his career in 1997 with Rothstein Kass where he served as a Fund Accountant and managed a group that handled trade processing and reconciliation of cash, activity and positions for the firm’s hedge fund clients. In addition, he prepared financial statements and tax adjustments, developed internal policies, streamlined accounting procedures, and performed consulting services to clients. Mr. Spiegel received an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University and a BBA in Finance from Hofstra University.

HAO WEI WU
Controller

Mr. Wu joined Corre Partners in early 2010. He is responsible for managing day to day operations including conducting daily trade and cash reconciliations. Additionally, Hao maintains daily risk reporting for the investment team. Prior to Corre, Hao Wei worked for Alternative Investment Management Technology Outsourcing where he was responsible for fund processing and reporting. Hao Wei holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Stony Brook University.

LAUREN WALLERSTEIN
Director of Investor Relations and Marketing

Mrs. Wallerstein joined Corre Partners in late 2012. She is responsible for client service and marketing. Prior to Corre, Lauren worked for Empiric Asset Management, LLC, a hedge fund where she worked as head of client service and marketing from 2009-2012. Lauren spent the first six years of her career working in development and capital raising roles in the non-profit sector. From 2005-2007, she was the Major Gifts Director for the Fresh Air Fund, a children’s organization, where she also held a Development Assistant position from 2001-2003. In 2004, Lauren served as a Development Associate in the Major Gifts Division at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital. Lauren holds a Masters of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University.
